Casa das Virtudes, or one of the loveliest weekends of my lives. Dear readers, let me share with you a recipe for perfect happiness: get together 6 friends and rent out the Casa for 4 or 5 nights. Enjoy the clean and crisp look and all its amenities. And by that I mean: enjoy the beautiful view from the ROOF! Please don't fall off, though, because then you would miss meeting Ana. She will be your neighbor, the best neighbor you could possibly have. Sing in the cobbled streets of Porto, enjoy the purity of your exchanges with the locals and have a good night's sleep in this inspiring, simple space.

Maral, Shushan, Vahan, Sipana, Sevana, Laure were the first armenian guests of Casa das Virtudes. They came from Paris and New York. Together we discovered hidden treasures of my city, the orange trees, the speaking crow with no wings in a surprising neighborhood near feira da Vandoma, the broas de mel (delicious cakes made with leftovers), the restaurant O Rei dos Galos, whose lady owner had received a postcard from Obama...and we sang everywhere, everywhere!, rising our voices to the sky!

É uma casa acolhedora no coração do centro histórico do Porto. De um lado, a rua castiça e pacata, uma vizinhança antiga e amigável. Do outro, o rio Douro que se estende por detrás dos plátanos e corre em direcção ao mar. Ao lado, o Centro Português de Fotografia, os jardins Horto das Virtudes e Cordoaria, o Palácio de Cristal, o mítico café Piolho, a Torre dos Clérigos, a livraria Lello, a loja A Vida Portuguesa, as galerias de arte da rua Miguel Bombarda, o museu Soares dos Reis, o Teatro Carlos Alberto, os cafés e a noite das ruas Galerias de Paris e Cândido dos Reis e ainda a zona ribeirinha. A Casa das Virtudes fica situada num prédio do século XVIII, moradia de uma trisavó dos atuais proprietários, tendo sido arrendado no século XX. Após recuperação coordenada pela arquiteta portuense Fernanda Seixas, optou-se atualmente por um acolhimento a estadias de curta duração. Os atuais proprietários são produtores do conhecido azeite biológico Tojeira obtido no lagar tradicional da herdade da Tapada da Tojeira na Beira Baixa, vendido e oferecido para degustação durante a estadia. O projecto de gestão da Casa das Virtudes integra a vertente ambiental (recorrendo apenas à utilização de produtos biológicos na limpeza e manutenção) e a vertente cultural, acolhendo e apoiando pontualmente artistas envolvidos em projectos de arte contemporânea.
